When is the event this year? The event date has been set... make sure you mark your calendars "Horowhenua Taste Trail" 25 November 2017 you do not want to miss this years event! How do you get around the trail? It is a self drive trail (or cycle, if you're really keen). The beauty of that is you can choose the places you want to visit, and stay for as long as you like at a site once you're there! The beginning and end point are yours for you to choose.
What footwear is suitable? Leave the high heels at home… we recommend practical footwear and strongly encourage you to wear covered shoes as most stops along the way are working farms and or factories.
Buy on the Day - On the day tickets can be purchased at any of the sites.
12 Years and Under - $5
Over 12 Year Olds - $15
Please note all credit card payments completed through our ticketing provider NZ Tickets incur a Merchant and Admin fee of 2.9% and a booking fee of $1. It's still cheaper and easier than buying on the day so we encourage you to get your ticket early! Where can I buy tickets from? Buy your tickets online now Don't have a credit card? We can help give us an email and we can process the ticket for you, or give us a call! Need some extra help buying your ticket online? Head into Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō or the Horowhenua District Council and they will be happy to help. What is the dress code: Dress sensibly for the weather, and make sure you are comfortable. To make the most of the day you will want to check out each venue as much as possible so get ready for a bit of walking so it’s probably a good day to get the “active wear" out.
Is Eftpos Available? While we try to have eftpos available at each stop this is not possible because of internet connections so please make sure you take CASH$$$).
Are there toilets at each stop? Yes, we can’t say they are the fanciest toilets around but yes there are toilets.
Where does the Taste Trail start? Where ever you want it to! We are pulling together a map with information about each site, so once you have the map you'll be able to plan your preferred route, so you can visit the sites you want to see. The map will be available in the next two weeks.
What can I buy along the way? There is plenty to buy along the way. This is a taste trail so of course there is food and beverages for sale at each stop. On top of this each stop we will have Horowhenua Taste Trail there is plenty tote Bag available to purchase for $5. Each stop will have various other items for sale including water. While we try to have eftpos available at each stop this is not possible because of internet connections so please make sure you take CASH$$$).
Is the event family friendly? Yes this event has been made with kids in mind so while some stops are more adult friendly (a champagne breakfast at Tendertips to start the day? Don't mind if I do!) others are more kid friendly.

Why haven't I heard about this event before? 2016 was the inaugural event and was a huge success! It has been one of those "good ideas" one of our clever committee members thought about awhile ago and now and the reality far exceeded expectations!! The feedback was fantastic and will help make this event better next year!
